Groundbreaking was held for The Gardens at Flint Hills on Friday, December 9, 2005.  The Gardens is
a $4.3 million affordable housing development, utilizing approximately $3.5 million in State Tax
Credits.  The City of Manhattan Housing Authority donated the land to the Manhattan Area Housing
Partnership to develop these 48 two and three bedroom units, which will be situated on the donated 2.5
acres of land on the northwest corner of the existing Flint Hills Place development.  The Manhattan
Housing Authority will act in the capacity of property manager.  Jim Moore, Affordable Housing
Group, is the developer.  Completion is expected in late summer or early fall of 2006.
