Public Housing Program:
Provides housing to income qualified applicants. The Housing
Authority currently has five properties totaling 202 units, with
efficiency, 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedroom units. The Housing Authority
also manages a sixth property (Flint Hills Place Improvements)
with 30 dual-designated Public Housing/Low Income Housing Tax
Credit units.

Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program:
Provides rental assistance to income qualified applicants. Once
participants receive a voucher from the Housing Authority they are then
able to find housing in the community. The Housing Authority currently
has 200 vouchers in the Manhattan, Ogden, Riley, St. George, and
Wamego communities.
There is such a need for this program in the community that the waiting list
for the Section 8 program usually consists of a six month to one year wait.

Provides security and utility deposits to income qualified

The FSS program assists low-income individuals and families with
obtaining the skills needed to secure permanent quality
employment. This program is only offered to Section 8 Housing
Choice Voucher program participants.
