Manhattan Fair Housing Webinar
Thursday, April 22, 2021
Each April, the City of Manhattan and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) observe National Fair Housing Month. National Fair Housing Month celebrates the passage of the Fair Housing Act in April 1968, a national law that prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental and financing of housing or in other housing-related activities based on race, color, national origin, religion, gender, disabilities, and families with children. National Fair Housing Month increases efforts to end housing discrimination and raises awareness of fair housing rights and responsibilities.
The City of Manhattan believes that education regarding the rights and responsibilities of all participants in the Fair Housing equation supports a positive experience for both housing providers and consumers. The City delivers informational guidance regarding Fair Housing and landlord/tenant issues through its annual Fair Housing Training Event.
